I have a special place in my heart for women who are starting up their own business for the first time. I still remember how it felt when I was working at a regular day job: I printed up my own business cards and listed my name and my title as "Principal". I was so proud of myself for having that identity. By having a nice set of cards, I could then feel confident introducing myself to new people at chamber mixers, starting to meet with potential partners and clients, creating a stack of brochures, and "getting my name out there." After this preparatory period, I was able to finally launch my company with confidence and success.
Since then, I've printed up many more stacks of business cards! If you're starting out with a micro-business or if you're a small business owner, your challenge is to get professional and eye-catching results on a limited budget. When I lived in West Oakland, the fabulous PS Print was right down the street, so I used them for all my printing needs like brochures, business cards, mailers, and tradeshow and poster printing. They've since expanded to multiple locations, but PS Print is still a great resource for when you need expert printing and excellent results. Everything is web-based -- you can upload your files online and review how the finished piece will look, and you can order different options by quality, timeliness, and materials, to fit your task at hand.
PS Print is an easy recommendation for me to make, especially for digital printing on a tight time frame.
