This is a banner year for women and for people of color for the upcoming US election cycle.
Whatever you might think about the current candidates, I encourage you to do your own research and consider the positions and voting record of each of your favorite "horses in the race".
Ron Paul, the Republican contender who came out of nowhere to dominate the recent debates, is sticking to the basics: taking us out of the war in Iraq, balancing the budget, and espousing conservative values.
His website focuses on his positions on:
Debt and Taxes
American Independence and Sovereignty
War and Foreign Policy ("The war in Iraq was sold to us with false information.")
Border Security and Immigration Form
Privacy and Personal Liberty ("The biggest threat to your privacy is the government.")
and Property Rights and Eminent Domain
He's articulate in his videos:

The 2004 election was when I truly "turned on" to the political race, and I even flew out to Des Moines with my young son and husband to go door-to-door asking for votes for my candidate.
Here's what I desire in a candidate:
1) Someone who understands that working people have priorities like the well-being of their family, their health, and their future
2) Someone who spends billions of dollars on health and wellness, education, and green options that nourish and support our environment
3) Someone who treats people of color, minoirities, and people in poverty with respect.
4) Someone who includes people of color on their team in leadership positions.
5) Someone who will do whatever he or she asks of others.
Finally, I truly desire a candidate who upholds the values our country is built on, with particular care for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
I think Congressman Paul is doing a fine job articulating what he plans to do with his Presidency. Ladies, let's organize and get in front of all the candidates with our vision for the future.
