Farhana Huq and her team at CEO Women, who create economic opportunities for low-income immigrant and refugee women through teaching English, communications and entrepreneurship skills, as well as providing "graduates" with mentoring, coaching and access to capital, have delivered on their long-awaited telenovela series.

The fun-to-watch series, called "The Grand Cafe," focuses on entrepreneurship building challenges, successes, and resources, but uses a friendly, situational-based storyline told through the point of view of four women and one man.
Each episode is about 28 minutes long and there are 18 episodes, with a presenter who teaches the characters the ins and outs of starting a business. With main characters from China, Mexico, Vietnam and India, the series is believable for its intended audience.
"C.E.O. Women has developed this telenovela series to allow women access and flexibility to learn and become connected with the resources they need to become self-sufficient entrepreneurs," says Huq.
Angelica Matsuno, producer of the series, explains that the main protagonist "Diana's character shows that if you persevere -- throughout the novela we see her just persevering and trying and gaining more and more confidence that you can do it."
C.E.O. Women increases it ability to reach others and also highlights the stories of the women it its program through this type of media.
