"Accelerating the Growth and Success of Women-of-Color Entrepreneurs"


 “Women of color are starting businesses at six times the rate of all businesses but their businesses are not achieving the same level of success as measured by revenues and employment.

"There is great untapped potential for economic and social impact in these businesses, which can only be realized once we clearly identify their challenges and develop targeted programming and policies to remove those barriers,” says Marjorie Alfus, chair, Center for Women’s Business Research.

“Research participants will share their stories, develop personal and business action plans, learn how to grow their businesses from the proven strategies of others, and contribute to setting new community and national agendas that support growth.”

The Center for Women's Business Research is collaborating with Babson College's Center for Women's Leadership to offer four research forums:

Please sign up as a sponsor, participant, or media to spread the word about this unique multi-year research project to uncover the challenges and barriers that women-of-color entrepreneurs are facing in their attempts to grow their businesses, and to identify actions and strategies that are successful in meeting and overcoming these challenges and obstacles.

Leading women business owner organizations are also research sponsors. They are: the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO); National Women’s Business Council (NWBC); Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC); and the Women President’s Organization (WPO).
