So, just a quick checkin as I am back in Manila for a shareholder meeting and having a great time.
Some issues to think about when connecting with other markets:
Know your friends: It's so important to find partners and associates who you can trust: people with whom you can do business are very special and you want to maintain the good relationships for as long as you're in operation. Keep in touch with the trade associations and your personal connections.
Infrastructure support: There was a typhoon here that knocked out water and electricity for up to 6 days in some areas of Manila. Imagine the impact this will have on your operations! Foreign companies investing in infrastructure will assist local, emerging nations.
Invest in people: Training, particularly for young people, is *invaluable*. A relative with Accenture in the Philippines is getting trained in Atlanta, Georgia: it's and excellent opportunity for the company and for the individual to sharpen their skill set and learn more ways to streamline their processes. Even a little of training time can go a long way: invest it in your staff!
