One of my companies, 10K Webdesign, is in the middle of the application process for Green Business Certification from the Bay Area Green Business Program. www.greenbiz.ca.govThe program certifies environmental performance and educates business owners on green business practices. From the website: "To be certified "green," participants must be in compliance with all regulations and meet program standards for conserving resources, preventing pollution and minimizing waste." We've had two visitors from the County of Alameda office to help us with appliances, kitchen and restroom efficiency, and green sources for inkjets, paper, and other office supplies. One other visitor will be arriving from the East Bay Municipal Utility District to help us increase our water conservation. If your county or region has a green business certification program, I highly recommend you apply. You can also visit www.greenbiz.com for some USA-based national resources.
