We employ 19.1 million people across the country. We've also grown these numbers in the last ten years: according to a BusinessWeek article, between 1997 and 2004 the number of women-owned companies grew nearly three times the rate of all privately held businesses with employees.
Here's my quick list of local groups I support in my community:
Ice cream: Tucker's (woman-owned)
Bakery: Arizmendi (co-op, worker-owned, many women and people of color)
Restaurant: Kilohana Grill (woman-owned, minority-owned)
How about small business?
Advertising: Bay Area Business Women's Network (woman-owned)
Tax accountant: Sterling Tax Service (woman-owned)
For publicly traded companies, we must be aware and push to make sure that the shares we hold are supporting women of color in the boardroom.

Women are on top of things! This is a positive aspect and the 50 percent sets an equilibrium that men should easily accept, although they wouldn’t.
