SistersinBiz Coach: Talk with your Future Self
sagecircle.jpgEveryone deserves a coach. In my work with Rob Seidenspinner of Sage Circle Coaching, I've really realized a lot about who I am, what I believe, and what I see in the future. I also create, with his help as a "co-active coach", steps to take me towards my personal and professional goals.

Coaching involves meeting weekly to address the week's goals, find out how the past week went, and connect.

One of our first intake sessions included an incredible meditation, guided by Rob, about speaking with my future self. In a state of very quiet gratitude, I was able to discern messages that my future self wanted to give me, including:

Let go of fear.
Put aside anger.
Be gentle with yourself.
Be as kind to yourself as you are to others.

I was also able to hear and understand what my turning point was/is, and what steps  to take to make deep-seated, positive change (publishing my first book).

In the belief that all of us are here to accomplish our life's purpose and to be gentle, kind, and loving with one another, I offer you the opportunity to think clearly, deeply, and gratefully about who you are now, who you will become, and how your life acts as the bridge between the past and the future.

You are the bridge!

Take some time as you go to sleep tonight to go to a quiet spot in your mind and envision where you will be in about 5 years. It helps if you think down to the smallest detail including where you live, how you furnish your surroundings, your work environment, your friends and family, your body and your health, the relationships you have, your financial situation... Think about who you choose to be with, and what your typical day looks like.

Think about going to your future self's door and knocking on it, and actually meeting yourself.

Ask your future self what messages she or he has for you, or what knowledge she or he has to impart to the you of today.

Return to the present day and write down all of your impressions and ideas and thoughts: turn them into a five-year and ten-year and twenty-year plan: share your dreams and goals with others, and find others to help you reach that future you.

You will be surprised at how much you already know and how easy the steps will become for you when you follow that life's path towards the future.
