The National Association of Women Business Owners NAWBO is a fantabulous organization. Join your local chapter! I promise that you will increase your network of women business owners and professionals in your community.
Women in business, and particularly women of color in business, deserve as much support as we can get! This means finding others who have similar interests and abilities, as well as mentors, coaches, guides, and others to help us take a more "macro" look at our business.NAWBO does a tremendous job of this through the MakeMineaMillion.org event that I've blogged about before and through their network of partners and supporters.
NAWBO also does a great deal of recruitment and retaining of women of color: they've highlighted positive images all over the website as well (which I like!).
